There was quite an age difference between GM Wong and Lau Bin. They had lived in the same area in China and were friends here in California.. Lau Bin lived in the Bay area and GM Wong in Los Angeles . There were many differences in their forms but the similarities are right there and you could see them. When you study something religiously from a teacher you take on the style of that teacher. whether you study a form , and another student studies a different form from the same teacher , the similarities will be there in the movement and the visible applications. In the style we have learned from GM Wong, for example, the Tiger - Crane form is nearly the same form movement for movement that is practiced at the Tiger - Crane schools in Hong Kong.

Quick question: How did you use to address GM Wong?

There are probably many who check these pages , and I would like to know what you think is more important in a situation , arms & hands , or , legs & feet ? Or do you need both equally ? When you workout what do you put emphasis on ? Please don't be shy , I'd really like to know..

The three musketeers are still here, it seems, and the peeping Tom's still out there. A combination of arms and legs seem to be most important and our style is just that. Choi, Li, Fut, Mok, Hung managed to combine and highlight what their specialties were, to strengthen what would have lacked, had they remained separate. Strong stances are essential. After that, it's a question of distance, placement, reflex and whatever works best for each individual.

OK , there are quite a few people on this now , so let me ask you a question.... 1- Have you ever been in a fight ?
2- Have you ever been able to use anything you ever learned ?
3- If you have studied forms , have you ever been able to apply the moves as techniques ?
Please take the time to answer ,this would really be interesting !

In 2 different occasions I used wrist locks that you taught us to control and things stopped there. Another time I used a windmill to break someone's grab from behind. Yet, I've never struck anyone in the heat of battle.
