Zacatecas not to often, go more to Zamora, Michoacan.. But I have heard of the school. I have heard others mention them positively, but haven't really tried to contact them. Have you had a chance to make contact with them? It's always good to see how far Ng Ga Kuen has reached.. I have met a few as far as Puebla and Oaxaca.. It really amazes me... Sergio

Sergio Sergio, Thanks, the school already under my direction since last January, the chief instructor of the schools came to USA and trained with me for a week. I asked you just for a personal reason. Five Family school in Oaxaca was recuited by Tigre Negro 2 years ago, they came through the "war zone" at 2006 to meet me in Culiacan. Their late master is "Little Louie", unfortunately he passed away few years ago, a big lost for them and Ng Ga Kuen; little Louie was from the Daly school. Seming This video is for everyone; Sergio, You could post it in your forum too. www.kungfu5family.com/Internal003.wmv

Hello Everyone, Thanks for all of your insights. I'm enjoying this forum very much. Sifu Seming, I received the 2007-2008 catalog from Unique Publications and I tried to purchase your two DVD's. Unfortunately their phone numbers were all screwed-up. Every new number they gave me the people on the other end didn't have a clue of what I was talking about. This was early fall when I tried. I don't have the catalog handy, but if I remember correctly, the name of the form was Five Element Fist? I don't remember ever hearing about this form. Did I remember correctly? I have continued to check IKF magazine and I haven't seen it advertised. Mark

Mark Hi Mark, IKF finished the DVD cover/case production without my final Ok, too late for them to correct the system name; it should be 5 Family Fist which = 5 Family Style = Ng Ga Kuen. In this case, the 5 elements are punch, palm, block, stance, and kick Vol #1 is small cross w/ application, Vol #2 is combination w/application. You could order them here www.budovideos.com/shop/customer/home.php?cat=331Seming

In Fact the videos of Sifu Seming are name the 5 elements ......Wu Hsing....Fist ...its the same of the 5 families....the number 5 ....Stance (footwork),punch, block(defense),Kick and open hands (palms )
here we dont talk about grappling and takedown thats a parts of each others(I mean some stance or footwork teach some takedown .....some punch or block could be used for takedown some open hands could be used for grappling and so on)
like the 5 elements Water, wood, fire,Metal and earth.....Chinese use a lot of this stuff take from TCM (medecine) or Philosophy........for look good ;D
In the video ....if I remimber you could see the Salute ,Small cross(Siu Sup Jee) and the combinaition(wun hop kuen)...........the five elements are the Small cross, butterfly, combinaition, black bird and the palm....
5 families ....5 Elements...its the same
Sorry my english is not very good hope you understood me
Sincerely
Steeve

That's great I had heard somethng like that early last year.. I had heard they were looking for some direction on how to asimilate more to the 5 family system as it is done here.. I am sorry to hear about Little Louie, do you have any pictures of him.. I'm not good at names, but can always remember a face.. By any chance do you remember Abel from Guadalajara, he training at the Daly street school as well.. He was their for about 4 to 5 years in the early 80's and trained quiet a bit with Sifu Luie Martinez.. He was always dressed in old traditional kung fu suits whever he went.. He was a natural when it came to kung fu and learned extremely fast.. People would always mistake him for being Chinese... The last I heard he had moved back to Mexico once he finished his training.. I will see if I have a picture of him somewhere and will post it on this forum.. As for Oaxaca, I don't remember the name that contacted me in the early years of the forum, but I know they were also looking for guidance.. Great to hear they are part of Tigre Negro.. BlackRavin

It really is increidible how Ng Ga Kuen Mexico expanded in Mexico.. Everytime I turn I have a message from a school who wants to reach back and make contact.. I always tell them I am just a student, but can help them anyway I can.. Some still contact me and some drift away, once they see that the forms are really different from what they are doing.. But still none the less it is increidible how much kung fu has taken hold south of the border.

Hi Steeve, I think you do pretty well with your English. But why so many e e e e e's in your name. ;D I feel like I already know you after all the posts I've read of yours over the years. I have a niece who is a French teacher, so you can give me a detailed report and I'll have her translate. ;D On a serious note, I first read about Sifu Lore King- Hong's Hung Kuen in the May/June 2003 edition of Kung-Fu magazine. Philip H.J. DaviesPh.D. wrote an article entitled Hung Kuen in the Great White North. I googled Sifu Lore King- Hong and from that became aware of Sifu Glen Doyle. I purchased his DVD from the Fun-To-Know series and really liked it. It was very similar to many of the Southern Shaolin forms from the Kwan Ying Do system. I have always favored S. Shaolin, just a personal preference. I have learned a lot about Master Lao Kim's Hung Kuen as well. Yes, I am aware of Jopet Laraya. I know he trained with Master Lao Kim and also Sifu Lore King-Hong. By the way, I LOVE Master Lao Kims's YouTube video. I live in the U.S.A.( Ohio) but am originally from Buffalo, N.Y. Mark

BlackRavin Sergio, Little Louie is the boy w/formal uniform doing the blackbird and combination in this video. His father was a student too. We called Louie Martinez as "big Louie". www.kungfu5family.com/CalPolytourny.wmvI don't think I know Abel, I think he jointed the school during my time off from the school, a picture might help my memory Seming
