Hi Guys,
It's me...Jeff. Some of you may know me from Sergio's forum. I've been lurking here off and on for a while and decided to register.
Been doing martial arts for a few decades and STILL LOVE it!
Just a quick hello to everyone here with an even briefer intro. :-)
Jeff

Hey Jeff, good to see you hear, as you know, my forum went completely to spanish.. Nothing agains the english language, but just wanted to avoid politics since I am only a newbie when it comes to martial arts. ;D

You've got to admit Sergio, it was your doing that brought us all together through your forum. Newbie is not a name you should refer to yourself as, try Dedicated Student ! Which is what we all are. There is no way, even after doing my best for the last 40 + years I would consider myself a Master. I am a teacher . I hope I can show things that others can learn from. Politics are for those with too much time on their hands ( They should be working out instead, then they wouldn't drop their knives or forget the salute.).

I guess I do owe an explanation of why I moved to Thailand...... The reason was because I couldn't move to Vietnam ! After coming back from a war that I personnally took part in it seemed that I just didn't fit in to society anymore. You have to know that out of a Marine boot camp platoon of 91 men, only 2 of us ever made it back home. Both of us had received numerous wounds and I was the only one of us both that still had all my limbs. For me my kung fu training was more than just training it was a way of life. It was a way for me to deal with all the horrors I had seen and it was a way for me to vent my frustration and my self pity for having survived when I didn't think I was worth it. Thailand was the closest I could get to Vietnam in order to be close to all those friends that I lost..... Hi Gary, I was real close to my grandfather while growing up. He loved country music, with Johnny Cash being his all time favorite. As you can imagine, I started liking him as well. I was thinking about your post the other day when I heard his song Drive On. It's about Vietnam. Have you ever heard it? I hope your trip to L.A. has been fun and I wish you a safe trip back to Thailand. Mark

The month of March flew by! It was wonderful seeing the Stoner Park group, again! Gary, I hope your trip home is totally uneventful other than chatting with other passengers on the flight. I am hoping to avoid bad weather on my way back home. See you all (or most) on forums, soon. Happy fruitful training to all.

Hi there,
Thanks for a very interesting forum Gary and the other members who gives him a helping hand... Thought I don't practise martial art myself I do find it highly interesting to hear the stories and read about the different forms.

Hi Niclas, If you have a great interest in martial arts. how come you don't study it? Do you live where there are no good teachers? I'm assuming you have been tattooed by Gary. I was his very first person he tattooed many years ago. Jay

Hi Niclas, If you have a great interest in martial arts. how come you don't study it? Do you live where there are no good teachers? I'm assuming you have been tattooed by Gary. I was his very first person he tattooed many years ago. Jay Hi Jay, Good question. I live in Pattaya and yes Gary are my tattooist. I work as an Able Bodied Seaman in the Norwegian merchant marine that means I'm gone for work half the year and add a few short stop over in my home in Sweden it all ads up to being gone around 7 months a year. I did study with Gary for a very short while, but could not give myself the time to practise on my own with to many other things to do... And then being onboard the ship it's often long days and sleep is the priority on off-duty hours. If Gary have the time I will take up studying for him again, been given it a lot of thought over the last year or so and it is not only a great opportunity, it is also a good way to exercis and to take ones mind off things. Must been a long time since you got your tattoo from Gary, then did you get it and what is the it? Gary have done a lot work on my upper body and the plan is to cover that and then move down and en up with a body suit... Niclas

Hi Niclas, Sounds like a demanding job. Anybody on ship does martial arts?... The first thing Gary tattooed on me, with the help of Basement Bob who first instructed him, (if I remember correctly) was some outlining and some shading of koi fish on my calves. Soon after that Gary did an outline of the monkey king on my side rib area. Gary has certainly come many lightyears ahead since then with his tattooing. My hat's off to him. Gary taught me to tattoo also many years ago but I gave it up. Jay
