In answer to Jay's comment: Indeed it is hard to correct oneself after so many years of practicing a poor position. Some, me included at times, perform a simple square horse without "Tucking Their TAIL BONE." Check the DVD, it is so obvious. As for criticism: In my opinion, It is all in the WAY it is said. If a comment is demeaning, derogatory and negative to a student, how can the practitioner be receptive to it??? HELLO!!! Learning to teach is part of the practice for the betterment of ALL involved: teacher and students. Ain't it Feed back, anyone? Mic

Some people do not like criticism, jump to conclusions and will interpret it in a negative way.

Discretion is the better part of valor ! Different people need a different form of teaching ..
How to be kind saying this / Some just don't get it and that is when a teacher has to look inside and make changes that will benefit that person for what their needs are....
It takes years to be able to teach someone something physical. Have you ever had a teacher in school that you liked and you were able to learn everything that they taught . And, then there was the teacher that you felt had a personal animosity towards you , or just the opposite.. No matter what, you couldn't learn from them ! Such is life ! Yin & Yang ...

Hi y'all saw an interesting thread at this site and at se ming's about the internal arts. Don't mean to beat a dead horse here. Wondering what players think. I often ask people who practice bagua, hsingyi etc: what makes their art different from other arts. Am going to have to get back to you guys on this as my wife and kids are going out the door.

This is a very good question Tim.... Internal power.. what is it ? This is what I've come to believe now by training with the Buddhas ( Monks.) It is the clearing of the mind completely and letting the body go. Sounds easy doesn't it ! There are techniques for doing this and they are very hard, but easy once you understand them and practice them.. I can't explain here, they have to be shown. When the mind is clear the body can perform. What stops us from doing things, even remembering things is our own interference with what the body wants and needs to do. Believe me I am the world's biggest skeptical. I do the meditations now and things are easier. I don't even get as upset at trivial things as I used to .. Acceptance to your life is the uppermost thing to keep in mind... I'll explain more on this later.....
I'd like to make a certain point here on something completely off the subject, but I was astounded at the fact that people would pay big $$$ to learn junk that was made up from people who aren't qualified to teach anything .. This goes along with the karmic principle of want & need and what you are willing to pay in order to be ahead of , or learn something that doesn't even exist so you can say you know it ! you have all seen the examples. One is just a lot of Bull .... You understand !
